Maurizio Santin

Maurizio Santin, son of Ezio Santin of the Antica Osteria del Ponte, three Michelin stars, located in Cassinetta Lugagnago, Italy, was born and lives in Milan. After studying foreign languages, he started to make his first steps into the cuisine world at his father’s restaurant, which shortly became a second home to him. He immediately directed his passion to pastry, following a training program which involved the most prestigious restaurants, particularly in France, and the leading authorities in the field of pastry. Perhaps, the most significant encounter was with Alain Ducasse and his great pastry, to whom he devoted himself for over a year at the restaurant Louis XV (3 Michelin stars) in Monaco under the expert guidance of Christian Cottard, pastry chef at the Hotel de Paris. Returned to Antica Osteria del Ponte, he worked as pastry chef until 2004 when he started working on new projects and collaboration with Gambero Rosso. Since then, he was increasingly known to television audiences for his broadcasts on Gambero Rosso Channel.

He contributed as “severe” judge to the program “This I did” led by Francesca Romana Barberini always on Gambero Rosso Channel, and as pastry Master guest with a dedicated space at the program “La Prova del Cuoco” with Antonella Clerici on Rai Uno Channel. At the same time, Maurizio Santin performed several food and wine events and consultations in Italy and abroad, such as the collaboration at Nestlé-Perugina from 1998 to 2002 and in 2008 at the bakery Sant Ambroeus in New York. He entered the faculty at Cast Alimenti in 2005.

To the great French Masters I owe a lot of my training, but while creating desserts I never give up to the classics of the Italian tradition.
