After graduating from the Institute of Professional Hotel Business in Recoaro Terme, Italy, Gianluca Tomasi joined Hotel Caesar in Abano Terme, Italy, then moved to the Forte Village in Cagliari, Italy and Locanda Maggiore in Montecatini Terme, Italy; finally, he devoted himself in the management of the restaurant Gastronomi city in Vicenza helped by his father. He participated in some primary culinary competitions, first as assistant to the Italian National Chefs Team and later as part of the Veneto Region Chefs Unit, becoming its captain in 1996. In 2000, he was called back into the National Chefs Team and meanwhile received various institutional awards, became national evaluator and earnt numerous medals in both national and international competitions, also devoting time to consulting and teaching.
