CAST expand its professional boundaries with a new international project

The "International Pathway" is an exclusive project designed by the CAST that lays a track connecting its graduated students to top level academic institutes abroad, in order to expand furthermore their knowledge in the chosen professional field by attending Master-style courses of study.  This prestigious opportunity is reserved to those students who already hold a CAST graduation in either Professional Advanced Level Diploma in Italian Culinary Arts or Professional Advanced Level Diploma in Italian Pastry Arts for Hotel & Restaurant Service.

CAST mission is to provide Chefs and Pastry Chefs with a comprehensive academic offer focusing on the exchange of knowledge and experience in an International background thus forging the new Global Italian Culinary Ambassadors, enhancing the Italian food-style in the professional market worldwide. 

The project features the esteemed collaboration with leading International institutions such as: HTMi – Hotel and Tourism Management Institute in Soerenberg - Canton Lucerne, Switzerland (International Hospitality School), "LPM Restaurant & Bar" (Worldwide fine-dining restaurants), "City & Guilds" and "British Council" (International Academic entities).

HTMi-Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, Switzerland, will develop further education opportunity for the students attending CAST course of either Professional Advanced Level Diploma in Italian Culinary Arts or Professional Advanced Level Diploma in Italian Pastry Arts for Hotel & Restaurant Service. This academic collaboration means benefitting from a privileged access to HTMi - Bachelor Bsc in International Culinary Arts. The two mentioned CAST professional courses have indeed been granted academic credits which are equivalent to the first 24 months (2 years) of the Bachelor, thus allowing CAST students to enroll directly in the third and final year (6 months at school + 5/6 months of paid internship in Switzerland).

Further requirements to enroll are: Open for the International CAST students or citizens of the European Community (scholarship for the EU citizen) plus holding a certified knowledge of the English language, corresponding to level B2 (Intermediate) or IELTS 5.5.

LPM - Restaurant & Bar, Worldwide, represents a remarkable job opportunity for the CAST students to gain qualified experience abroad, in a fine dining global chain restaurant where CAST graduated students can access with the professional job role of Culinary Management Trainee on an 18-month Management Training path. This opportunity is subject to a preliminary interview with the LPM HR team and to available job vacancies. Cherry on the pie: salary, accommodation, medical insurance, flights A/R are included in the package.

City & Guilds awarding body will accredit the CAST students the first and only Global certification for the Hospitality industry in collaboration with Worldchefs. C&G digital badge is based on a framework designed to enable progression into and within the sector. It recognizes the skills and experience of people working in hospitality and helps employers attract and retain.

CAST educational programme of the Professional Advanced Level Diploma in Italian Culinary Arts, which includes 16 weeks in the classroom plus 16 weeks in internship and further 4 final weeks in the Central Main Kitchen at CAST, has been recognized by the City & Guilds as featuring those requirements and quality standards identifying the professional profile of a Chef de Partie. It means that graduated CAST students can be awarded with the Global Hospitality Badge; the owner of this badge is an experienced professional Chef who works under the direction of a Sous Chef or an Executive Chef. He covers a role of responsibility within one or more production sectors, such as appetizers, first courses and side dishes, meat, fish, pastry.

British Council, a British official organization promoting a wider knowledge of the United Kingdom and the English language worldwide since 1934, will support the CAST students with the English language. This linguistic prospect offer students of both the Professional Advanced Level Diploma courses the opportunity to attend two different online classes: General English - 30 hours (3 hours a week), or IELTS - 30 hours (2.5 hours a week). The levels of British Council courses align with the Common European Framework of Languages and its certificates are therefore globally recognized.
