Located at the foot of the Alps, that is from the very top of the Maddalena mountain (our “home Alp”) on a clear day it is possible to see, southerly the Brescia plain, extending down till the offshoots of the Apennines, eastwardly the Venetian countryside and westwardly the solemn mountain-tops of the Lombard Alps. From time immemorial, those have been road crossing of trade routes, Brescia is the natural starting point also for innovative tourist routes in the North Italy: one-day excursions are possible to Venice, Turin, Milan, Bergamo, Verona, Padua, Bolzano, Saint-Moritz and other places.
